Inspired

Inspired
By Rhincel John Ortega De Veas

Inspiration passed me
I cannot be me
My soul cannot be me
Inspiration escaped me

Inspiration passed me
To write…
To express my feelings in flight
Inspiration escaped me

Inspiration passed me
To sing…
To utter the melody life’s joy can bring
Inspiration escaped me

Inspiration passed me
To love…
To explore that divine gift from above
Inspiration escaped me

Inspiration passed me
To act...
To make shine what is intact
Inspiration escaped me

Inspiration passed me
To live...
To imagine and believe
Inspiration escaped me

Inspiration passed me
Why can’t I be me?
Inspiration escaped me
The answer was not with me

Wednesday's Last Light

Wednesday’s Last Light
By Rhincel John Ortega De Veas

Orb of the maiden hunter
Studded velvet wonder
Spectator to secrets indeed
That sinful fruit cannot be conceived

For as the scornful gloom draws
Under the flames the hoarfrost thaws
For strangers there is blight
Blissful frenzy labors first light

The Mustang is bound in chains
Supple, untainted silk in bloody stains
Neither zeal nor vigor is for the meek
To make hell grant what love did seek

Too Lovely

Too Lovely
By Rhincel John Ortega De Veas

You walked along the dune
Hair black as ebony flowing like a tune
Mesmerized by your glance
My bearings morphed into trance

Impinged by your splendor
I was in enslaved demeanor
Astonished with feminine essence
Abashed with enchanting presence

Sooner you made me vicious
My spirit suddenly became ambitious
Egoism claimed that you’re mine
Sanity forced me to be in line

Yet like a flower, I cannot own you
Doomed as my thoughts, I was in blue
For a bloom selfishly plucked will die
The pruner can only heave a deep sigh

Seclusion of an English Guy

Seclusion of an English Guy
By Rhincel John Ortgega De Veas

I was here
But never there
Always been existing
Never been astounding

Shouting at the top of my voice
Still drowned in their noise
Trying my best to mingle
Always caught up in tangle

Trying to reach those stars
My efforts had been sparse
A prey immobilized
But never anyone realized

Doing good for reason
Scythed with bloody treason
Now the good meat was spoiled
For around the brim vipers coiled

I am always here
But will never be there
Unknown be my existence
Menace be my presence

Hazel Eyes

Hazel Eyes
By Rhincel John Ortega De Veas

Oh eyes!
That have brought wretchedness to men
Bringer of honey-sweet ecstasy
Or bitter tunes of melancholy

I, forsaker of love
What can you do to my lot?
Yet dawn soon faded the darkness of night
Sweet breath of roses took over my plight

Oh that hazel eyes!
Let me look at you now!
Pierce me with sweet pain
Melt the icy chill of rain

But Eros should wait long
So that roses would bloom strong
